We Are Mayhem
By Beck Rourke-Mooney
On Sale Now
Ages 14-18

“We Are Mayhem is a down-to-earth read with a big heart. You don’t need to know a thing about wrestling to cheer Birdie on during her new adventures, even after some messy situations take place. Through bright characters and a subculture that isn’t too common in YA, Beck Rourke-Mooney offers a unique spin on contemporary coming-of-age novels. The exploration of gender, inclusivity, strength, and friendship is discussion-worthy.” – Elise Damasco, MCPG Intern
Plain Jane and the Mermaid
By Vera Brosgol
On Sale Now!
Ages 10-14

“Plain Jane and the Mermaid was a delight to read. The creepy Victorian setting is great, but I really enjoyed all the slimy greens in the atmospheric underwater world Vera Brosgol created. The main character must go on a quest deep into the swamp to track down her crush/fiance or risk being kicked out of her home and becoming destitute. While underwater, she confronts all sorts of nightmares including giant scary fish, a weird little demon creature, and the fact that she feels ugly and unlovable. The quirky side characters really round out the book, supporting Jane on her quest to rescue an undeserving boy. I like that she’s resourceful, brave, and determined and cheered when Jane discovers that she’s loveable and likeable for all of her character traits. If you like all the classic fairy tale tropes but have an affinity for the weird and wonderful, give this a read!” – Elysse Villalobos, Associate Marketing Manager

The Yellow Bus
By Loren Long
On Sale June 25th
Ages 3-6

“I absolutely adore The Yellow Bus! This latest picture book from beloved #1 New York Times bestselling creator Loren Long follows a yellow school bus through the many seasons and iterations of her life as she serves her community. Even as her routes and passengers change as time passes, the yellow bus continues to find happiness and purpose in helping others. I loved following the yellow bus on each turn of her journey, and seeing which unexpected passengers would fill her seats next. Loren’s stunning illustrations throughout the book—a masterful combination of black and white charcoal and graphite pencil with pops of brilliant color that spotlight the yellow bus and her changing passengers—beautifully bring this tender and heartfelt story to life. A poignant reflection on finding the joy in life’s unexpected turns, embracing change, and recognizing the beauty in helping others, The Yellow Bus is a treasure of a book that leaves readers with a hopeful and timeless message.” – Alexandra Quill, Senior Marketing Manager
